Sophie…..
is a sculptor from London, fascinated by the human species and our wild behaviours, how we tussle between being phenomenal, sentient beings and on the flip side, complex and detrimental. We are contradictory, mysterious and we love a good time. Her work is endlessly inspired by us; sharing this life, our global planet, relationships, humour, bodies and stories. Due to this her practice is lively and multidisciplinary.
Sophie has done residencies at Franconia Sculpture Park, Salem Art Works & Cyprus College of Art. Her latest sculptures ‘Praise You’ and ‘BITS’ have been inspired by working within The NHS during the recent pandemic.
Sophie enjoys working on as large scale as possible. She is constantly in awe of the great minds of our time including Esther Perell, Kae Tempest, Akala, Alok V Menon, the late Amy Winehouse ++ many more. She thinks our world would be a dull place without creativity, which pushes forward thinking, questions structures and champions joy.
Sophie has worked as a metal worker, fabricator, prop maker and set builder for over a decade on vast projects with clients including Zak Ove, Anish Kapoor, Nike and on large budget films including James Bond: Spectre and Game of Thrones.
