5. STRAIGHT THROUGH CREW | Glastonbury Festival
STRAIGHT THROUGH CREW
A 6am MC said we are all under one sky
Gabriels said if you are lonely, things will get better
And we all cried
Straight through crew
At the stone circle
To end the endless days of going full throttle
Where was Britney to steal the show?
Feeling mash up, hungover, telling
NYC secrets on the downlow
To work at Glastonbury festival is a pretty special opportunity…..
It’s rare to be able to even get on a team to work on creative projects let alone get paid.
I'‘ve worked there 3 times now (never been able to buy a ticket!) Twice in a creative capacity and recently on my mates glorious spaghetti stall because I couldn’t find any creative opportunities this time round. The festival seemed real rammed this year, super busy at all the stages but still as alive as ever. I find it so energising to talk to strangers, grin so much in a sweaty dance tent early into the morning or just by chance, hear a passing comment that seemingly speaks so deeply to your soul and where you are at in your life.
The first time I went there was in 2012 to work on an installation at Shangri La and yeah baby, it was as good as expected! I then worked on this signage project led by the incredible scenic artist Boudicca Collins for Workers Beer Company in 2019 and here are some pictures of the work we created……..
